Is the cleaning solution safe for my plants and pets?

Absolutely. We take great care to protect your landscaping. We pre-wet all vegetation, use eco-friendly cleaning agents, and perform a thorough rinse of the area afterward to ensure your plants and pets stay safe.

How often should I have my house washed?

In the Finger Lakes region, we deal with high humidity and changing seasons. We generally recommend a professional wash once a year to prevent organic growth (like that green algae) from staining your surfaces permanently.

Do I need to be home during the service?

No, you don’t need to be home! As long as we have access to an exterior water spigot and all windows/doors are tightly shut, we can complete the work and send you an update when we’re finished.

What are those black streaks on my roof?

It’s not just dirt! Those streaks are usually a hardy type of algae called Gloeocapsa Magma. It feeds on the limestone filler in your shingles, which can lead to premature shingle loss and reduced energy efficiency as your roof absorbs more heat.

Will high pressure damage my shingles?

We never use high pressure on a roof. High pressure can blast away the protective granules on your shingles, voiding your warranty and shortening the roof’s lifespan. Instead, we use a Soft Wash method—a low-pressure application of specialized cleaners that kills algae and mold at the source.

How does roof cleaning help with my insurance?

Many insurance providers in New York now use aerial photography or inspections to assess risk. If they see heavy moss or algae growth, they may issue a notice to clean it or face a premium increase or policy cancellation. A professional cleaning provides proof of maintenance and removes that risk.

Is the process safe for my gutters and landscaping?

Yes. We take a “safety first” approach by pre-soaking your plants with fresh water and rinsing them thoroughly throughout the process. We also ensure that our cleaning solutions are properly diverted through your downspouts to protect your lawn.

How long will my roof stay clean?

While it depends on the amount of shade and overhanging trees your home has, a professional soft wash typically keeps a roof looking great and growth-free for 3 to 5 years.
